Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager – Ceph & Distributed Storage based in the Netherlands. This remote leadership role focuses on building storage solutions powered by Ceph and open-source technologies, directing a globally distributed team of engineers.

You will shape software architecture, standards, and delivery, while coaching engineers, aligning with product goals, and promoting agile practices. Expect travel to international events and a strong emphasis on engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and/or C++ with hands-on software development experience.
• Experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux in production.
• Knowledge of Linux storage subsystems and distributed/network storage technologies.
• Proven track record leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineers.
• Strong software development principles, architecture, testing and documentation.
• Experience in agile software development environments.
• Ability to balance technical contribution with people leadership.

• Lead a team developing Ceph-focused storage solutions for enterprise and edge environments.
• Build and grow a globally distributed engineering team through coaching and career development.
• Provide technical leadership while contributing to engineering objectives and quality.
