Job summary

Lever, Inc. in the Netherlands seeks an OpenStack Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team operating modern private-cloud infrastructure for worldwide customers. The role blends technical leadership with people management, service delivery, and ongoing engineering improvements.

You will work across OpenStack, Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud tech to improve quality, reliability, and velocity, while maintaining strong customer relationships in a highly collaborative remote environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field.
Proven experience delivering software and/or managing technical operations teams.
Demonstrated experience with OpenStack.
Strong testing and engineering quality practices.
Linux system administration; Ubuntu/Debian familiarity is a plus.
Ability to understand complex distributed systems and cloud architectures.
Experience with agile software development and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow an engineering team responsible for day-to-day managed service of customer environments.
Improve engineering quality and delivery velocity through processes and workflows.
Monitor team health and use insights to improve performance and collaboration.
Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes for reliable service delivery.
Represent the team with customers, stakeholders, and product groups.
Maintain focus on priorities, milestones, and customer commitments across environments.
Ensure deployments meet service levels and are delivered on time.
Collaborate with customers, product engineering, and operations to drive continuous improvement.
