Job summary

Partner Company in the Netherlands is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer/Architect to design scalable, secure cloud solutions across Europe. You will bridge hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, shaping technology decisions and client outcomes.

You will work on infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, security, and cloud cost optimization while mentoring teams and sharing practical AWS/DevOps best practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building or architecting distributed applications on AWS.
• Strong software development skills and cloud-based application support.
• Hands-on AWS services knowledge: ECS, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, IAM, S3.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for IaC.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or equivalents.
• Experience with monitoring/observability: CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• Ability to balance technical and business needs with performance, security, and cost.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, secure AWS cloud solutions using DevOps best practices.
• Build cloud infrastructure and apps to meet complex customer needs and measurable value.
• Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Automate deployment and configuration through CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to deliver progressive solutions.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and operational strategies (CloudWatch, observability tools).
• Optimize performance, security, reliability, and cost of cloud environments.
• Mentor engineers on AWS architecture and DevOps, share practical guidance.
