Monks is seeking an AI/Orchestration Engineer to design and build the brain of agentic systems. You will craft the orchestration layer, enable provider-agnostic LLM integration, and ensure robust data handling from messy inputs.

You will work with a delivery team, shaping how AI-driven workflows operate, with strong emphasis on real-world value, guardrails, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic applications.
• 5+ years shipping production software.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks and provider SDKs.
• Experience designing scalable systems on AWS.
• Track record with unstructured data parsing and validation.
• Eval-driven mindset for agent quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the agent orchestration layer, including workflow state, event-driven execution, and next-best-action logic.
• Integrate LLMs behind a provider-agnostic layer with structured outputs, tool-calling, retries, and model routing.
• Turn messy inputs like documents, transcripts, and records into structured, reliable data the system can act on.
• Build human-in-the-loop approval flows that keep people in control of the decisions that matter.
• Set up evaluation and tuning loops so agent behavior improves on evidence rather than guesswork.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and client stakeholders to ship end to end.
