Thales Nederland in Hengelo is seeking a C++ Software Engineer for Electro-Optical radar core processing. You will craft real-time image and video processing software, integrate with optical camera hardware, and test on actual hardware to ensure accuracy and reliability.

The role emphasizes mathematical computations, GPU acceleration with CUDA, and building/optimizing media pipelines (GStreamer) within a high-tech defense environment at the Hengelo campus.

Qualifications

• Solid, proven experience in modern C++ software engineering.
• Strong affinity for image and video processing.
• Comfort with matrix operations and linear algebra in code.
• Hands-on mindset; testing on real hardware and cameras.
• Experience with GPU acceleration (CUDA).
• Familiarity with media pipelines using GStreamer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain real-time image/video processing software in C++.
• Translate mathematical models into production-ready code.
• Integrate software with optical camera hardware; perform hands-on testing and verification on real systems.
• Optimize pipelines and data flows; leverage GPU acceleration (CUDA).
• Collaborate with Radar Core Processing teams to ensure data integrates with tracking and control systems.
