Job summary

OMEGA, Inc. in Tilburg (NL) seeks an R&D Team Leader to guide a cross‑functional development team of hardware, firmware, and software engineers. You will promote agile practices and act as Scrum Master to ensure on‑time, high‑quality turnkey DAQ solutions.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product Management, and help grow the team’s capabilities while maintaining a safe, productive work environment. Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Strong background in hardware, firmware, or software development.
  • Experience with SAFe/agile frameworks and Scrum Master duties.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch language skills desirable.

Job description

The R&D Team Leader will lead a cross‑functional development team based in Tilburg (NL). This role involves working with hardware, software, and firmware developers to deliver turnkey key‑turn solutions for the DAQ market, especially for Electrical Power Test applications. You will grow the team’s capabilities to deliver complex products faster and with the highest quality, and you will support project execution by acting as a Scrum Master, ensuring the Scrum team can contribute effectively to project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a cross‑functional team of engineers and testers.
  • Manage and inspire hardware, software, and firmware engineers to deliver turnkey DAQ solutions.
  • Foster collaboration across disciplines and ensure seamless integration of components.
  • Promote best practices in engineering processes, quality standards, and compliance.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies as Scrum Master, including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments, coach the team in agile principles, and ensure adherence to SAFe or similar frameworks.
  • Maintain visibility of progress through dashboards and burn‑down charts.
  • Mentor and develop team members through continuous feedback, training, and career development plans.
  • Ensure project success by collaborating with Product Management to align deliverables with market needs.
  • Work with global R&D leadership to ensure projects are staffed with the right skill sets and maintain a safe, productive work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) or Master’s (M.Sc.) degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience leading technical teams and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Strong technical background, preferably in Hardware Engineering or Firmware/Software development.
  • Knowledge of modern leadership practices, such as Situational Leadership, and ability to apply them effectively.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, such as SAFe.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluency in Dutch highly desirable.
