Job summary

TKH Security, based at the Dutch Tech campus in Zoetermeer, seeks a People Manager for its Software R&D team. You will lead 15 application software developers alongside another R&D Manager, guiding delivery across multiple product teams within a SSDLC framework to ensure high quality and timely results.

You’ll mentor and develop team members, remove development bottlenecks, and collaborate with product managers and product owners to align the roadmap with strategic goals.

What are you going to do?

As a Software R&D Manager at TKH Security, you are responsible for leading a team of 15 application software developers with another R&D Manager. Your team works on various products within multidisciplinary product teams, each sharing a core expertise in software development. You will play a critical role in providing leadership, management, and direction to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing, so all product teams benefit from your team’s skills.

Your responsibilities include motivating and supporting the professional development of your team members, aligning their growth with organizational needs. You will identify and address bottlenecks in the software development process, guide your team in resolving these challenges, and oversee the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) to maintain high standards. You’ll also work closely with other key roles within the organization to optimise team effectiveness and continuously improve results.

Our R&D department follows a roadmap created by our product management team, which includes multiple product Managers (each responsible for a specific portfolio) and several product owners who work directly with multidisciplinary teams to support execution. This roadmap is based on a product line strategy shaped by input from stakeholders and market research, guiding our development teams to achieve strategic goals.

As part of the R&D management team, you’ll work alongside another R&D Manager (focused on firmware and hardware engineering), the Head of Development, and a Scrum Master. Together, we ensure that the R&D organization has the tools, skills, and resources to effectively implement this roadmap within a SSDLC. This includes, for example, keeping knowledge up to date, supporting skills development and providing engineers with what they need to deliver high-quality to secure results on time.
