Job summary

JDE Peet's in Utrecht is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Packaging Intern starting in March 2026. You will conduct packaging tests, perform life cycle assessments, and maintain the packaging sustainability database while sharing results with supervisors and teams to support multidisciplinary projects.

This 5-month, full-time internship offers hands-on experience in product development, data analysis, and project coordination within our Global R&D team, with four days in-office and one day remote,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor or master program for entirety of internship.
• Strong MS Office skills and fluent English.
• Structured, driven, and able to work in a team and independently.
• Available for at least 5 months (Mar 2026–Aug 2026).
• Five days per week, four in-office and one day remote.

Job Description

Join us as R&D Packaging Intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht, starting in March 2026. In this internship, you will conduct packaging tests, perform life cycle assessments, and characterize structures, while also maintaining the packaging sustainability database; you'll share results with supervisors and teams to enhance communication and support factory trials to gain insight into multidisciplinary projects.

Your key activities will be:

• Support the organization and analysis of drop & transit tests
• collect data and draw conclusions
• Attend and present at product development meetings
• Support factory trials and coordinate external tests

Here's what we're looking for:

• Academic Program: You are enrolled in a bachelor or master's program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Packaging, Sustainable Development, or Economics with a focus on Sustainability
• Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English – Having some similar hands-on experience with food research activities is always a benefit.
• Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from March 2026 to Augustus 2026
• Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including four days in-office and one day remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.

Your educational institution is willing to sign a collaboration agreement with JDE Peet's and when joining our Research departments, also sign an NDA agreement for internships.

You are either an EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU(EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
