R&D Application and Support Specialist at Hendrix Genetics

We are a rapidly growing, data‑driven breeding company that relies on advanced R&D systems to collect and process structured and unstructured data. To support our Aquaculture Business Unit (Salmonids & Shrimps), we are looking for an R&D Application Support Specialist who will assist our global R&D teams.

Your Role

• Provide 1st line support for R&D applications and devices
• Respond to and manage incidents and service requests according to SLAs
• Ensure clear communication with end‑users from issue identification to resolution
• Escalate incidents and problems to internal or external 2nd line support when needed
• Manage application access (adding/removing users)
• Train end‑users on new features and releases
• Collaborate with international teams across cultures and time zones
• Keep learning and developing in the latest IT technologies

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (bio)informatics, software engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to manage expectations and speak “non‑IT language” with end‑users
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle), data modelling and querying
• General technical knowledge: device management (handhelds, tablets, Bluetooth, Serial), infrastructure (Network, Microsoft Azure Cloud)
• Quick learner, highly analytical, problem‑solving and solution‑driven
• Able to navigate in a fast‑changing environment, set priorities and achieve goals

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting end‑users in a Research & Development environment
• Agile mindset and experience with tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps
• Highly structured and conceptual mindset with strong analytical problem‑solving ability
• Knowledge of ITSM solutions
