This ignited our mission to transform infection management, propelling us to develop pioneering solutions that prevent unnecessary suffering.

At SXMT, impact is paramount. We're proud to introduce our groundbreaking rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing device, poised to redefine how bacterial infections are treated. Our goal is clear: to equip healthcare professionals with the means to make informed treatment decisions swiftly and accurately. Through our innovative solutions, we're combating antibiotic resistance, enhancing patient outcomes, and saving lives.

Responsibilities

As an R&D Analyst at SXMT you will be responsible for the assessment of the novel devices with a variety of (body) samples including (infectious) material. The role of the R&D Analyst is pivotal in driving research efforts, generating scientific insights, and advancing the development of a novel system to address unmet medical needs and improve patient care.

This is a full-time contract for 40 hours per week, extending over three years, with the possibility of extension.

  • Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting R&D: testing the novel devices with a variety of (clinical) samples
  • Experimental Design: Designing, planning experiments and developing experimental protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Data collection: Collecting data according to established protocols, recording experimental observations, measurements, and results in a systematic and organized manner.
  • Data analysis: Analyzing experimental data using statistical methods and software tools to extract meaningful insights and draw conclusions. Identifying trends, patterns, and correlations in the data to inform decision-making.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting experimental issues and technical challenges, developing solutions and implementing corrective actions to ensure smooth progress of research activities.
  • Documentation: Documenting experimental procedures, results, and findings in laboratory notebooks, reports, and technical documents. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Collaboration and presentation: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and clinicians, to facilitate communication and coordination of research efforts. Participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, presenting results and project discussions to contribute ideas and insights.
Requirements
  • Required qualifications:

• MSc degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical engineering, or a related field.

• Experience is not required, but familiarity with working in a BSL2 environment with bacteria is a must.

• Fluency in English.

• Passionate about working in a young company.

• Well, organised with an analytical mindset.

• Openness to learn about regulatory processes and how to work accordingly.

  • Preferred qualifications:

• A passion for innovation and a creative, out-of-the-box mindset are highly valued.

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Access to professional development opportunities for career growth and advancement, including training resources.
  • Flexible schedule and work arrangements
  • Dynamic and collaborative work environment
