Job summary
Optiver in Amsterdam is inviting penultimate-year students in STEM for a 10-week Quantitative Research Internship starting in 2026. You'll explore trading fundamentals, work on research projects, and gain hands-on experience trading on live markets with simulated capital.
You'll be guided by our education team and exposed to various desks, with opportunities to build models, apply ML, and use big data to spot opportunities. Successful performers may receive a full-time offer after graduation.
Qualifications
- Penultimate year student in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics or related STEM field.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, probability and statistics.
- Excellent research, analytical and modelling skills.
- Proficiency in any programming language.
- Knowledge of machine learning, time-series analysis and pattern recognition is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Dive into trading fundamentals and research projects with real Optiver technology (simulated capital).
- Develop trading algorithms using statistical models and ML.
- Leverage big data technologies to analyze strategies and instruments for opportunities.
- Combine quantitative analysis with high-performance implementation for accuracy and efficiency.
