Job summary

Koninklijke Vopak N.V. seeks a Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Lead to enhance the integrated SHEQ management system and drive site-level improvements.

You will support governance, develop QMS improvement programs, and lead cross-site initiatives to optimize quality processes. The role requires 3–5 years in QA with ISO systems knowledge, strong data analytics, and excellent English and Dutch communication.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (HBO/Academic level) preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance with a strong background in management systems including document control and internal audits, ideally in (petro)chemical, bulk storage or similar high risk environments.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch; Dutch proficiency mandatory.
• Proven knowledge of integrated ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
• Experience developing and implementing QMS improvements.
• Skilled in data analysis and creating performance monitoring dashboards.
• Results-oriented, problem solver with strong judgment; autonomous and persuasive.
• Passionate about quality assurance, document control, and mobilizing others.
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Lead QMS Improvement: develop and implement a strategy to significantly enhance the quality management system, focusing on document control.
• Drive Performance Analysis: create and maintain dashboards to monitor quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage the Internal audit program: coordinate internal audits and participate where needed.
• Provide Expertise: advise management and staff on quality topics and coach teams to meet standards.
• Project Leadership: lead continuous improvement projects across departments.
• Document Control: maintain an up-to-date document control system with clear ownership and review dates.
• Administrative Support: perform quality assurance tasks that cannot be automated.

What will you do as a Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Lead?

As a Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Lead, you will be a key driver in enhancing our integrated SHEQ management system. You will provide specialist support and governance, ensuring our operations are not only compliant but also continuously improving. Your expertise will be vital in providing leadership and support to our teams at the different sites and, helping to improve processes and achieve our business goals. You will be developing and leading the implementation of quality management system improvement programs within the Business Unit Netherlands.

• A gross annual salary between €85.000 and €100.000 based on knowledge and experience.

What do we expect from you as a Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Lead?

• Relevant degree (HBO/Academic level) is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, with a strong background in management systems including document control and internal audits, ideally within the (petro)chemical, bulk storage industry or similar high risk industrial environment.
• Good communicative (written, verbal) and social skills, with a strong command of both English and Dutch (Dutch proficiency is mandatory).
• Proven knowledge of integrated ISO management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Experience in developing and implementing QMS improvements.
• Proficient in data analysis and creating performance monitoring dashboards.
• You are results-oriented, a good problem solver, and have strong judgment.
• You are also persuasive, persistent, and can work autonomously while taking ownership of your work.
• Passion for quality assurance, document control, and the ability to motivate and mobilize others.
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands.

What does your day look like?

You’ll work closely with various departments to develop and drive quality improvement programs. A typical day might involve meeting with different teams to define clear roles and responsibilities for document control, analyzing data to identify trends in our quality metrics, and providing advice and expertise to help colleagues improve their processes. You might spend your day coordinating the internal audit program or participating in an audit at one of our sites. You’ll also be hands-on with administrative tasks, ensuring the QMS remains up-to-date and accurate.

Your core responsibilities are:

• Lead QMS Improvement: Develop and implement a strategy to significantly improve the quality management system, with a specific focus on document control.
• Drive Performance Analysis: Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor and analyze quality data, identifying key improvement opportunities and tracking progress toward objectives.
• Manage the Internal audit program: Coordinate the internal audit program as well as participate in internal audits.
• Provide Expertise: Advise and support management and employees on quality topics, coaching them on how to achieve expected standards.
• Project Leadership: Lead continuous improvement projects (related to quality or standardization) across departments.
• Document Control: Ensure the current document control system is effectively managed, with a clear overview of documents, review dates, and responsibilities.
• Administrative Support: Conduct necessary administrative tasks related to quality assurance that cannot be automated, such as quality checking procedures.
