Job summary

Balans in Hillegom, the Netherlands, seeks a QA Specialist to improve product and production quality. You will combine day-to-day QA with improvement projects, coordinating with Production, R&D and Engineering to ensure actions are followed through, while contributing ideas to a developing quality culture.

You bring 1–2 years of QA in manufacturing, a grasp of deviation management and documentation, and a hands-on, proactive approach with strong English skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years QA experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of deviation management, CAPAs and document control.
• Experience in GMP- and/or FDA-regulated environments; pharma/cosmetics/OTC is an advantage.
• Hands-on, proactive approach; take ownership and see tasks through.
• Strong English language skills; English is the working language.

Responsibilities

• Managing deviations, change controls and CAPAs to prevent recurring issues.
• Maintaining and improving quality documentation (SOPs, forms, work instructions).
• Supporting validation activities for equipment, processes and systems; help maintain the VMP.
• Collaborating with Production, R&D, Engineering and other departments to ensure quality in daily ops.
• Supporting internal audits and preparing documentation for external inspections.

QA Specialist – Hillegom, the Netherlands

Do you enjoy improving quality and making sure things work in practice? Are you hands-on, able to switch quickly between tasks, and focused on finding solutions? Then this could be the right opportunity for you!

For an international manufacturer of products among others soap and disinfectants, based in Hillegom, we are looking for a QA Specialist who wants to help improve the quality of products and production processes.

The quality processes are still developing, giving you the opportunity to contribute ideas and turn improvements into action. Rather than simply pointing out what is wrong, you look for practical solutions and work with colleagues to make things better.

What will you do?

You will combine day-to-day QA activities with improvement projects. Working closely with Production, R&D, Engineering and other departments, you will keep track of priorities and make sure actions are followed through.

Your responsibilities include:

• • Managing deviations, change controls and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), helping to prevent recurring issues.
  • Maintaining and improving quality documentation, including SOPs, forms and work instructions.
  • Supporting validation activities for equipment, processes and systems, and helping maintain the Validation Master Plan (VMP).
  • Working with different departments to ensure quality requirements are applied in daily operations.
  • Supporting internal audits and preparing documentation for external inspections.

No two days are the same. You can switch between tasks, set priorities and maintain oversight when unexpected issues arise.

What do you bring?

• • Around 1–2 years of QA experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a company with its own production facilities and an international working environment.
  • A good understanding of quality processes, such as deviation management, CAPAs and document control.
  • Experience in a GMP- and/or FDA-regulated environment is preferred. Experience in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or OTC products is an advantage.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach. You take ownership, think along with the team and make sure things get done.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken. English is the working language throughout the organization.

Experience with validation, a Validation Master Plan (VMP), ISO 9001 or ISO 22716 is an advantage. You do not need to know everything from day one; there is room to learn and develop your skills further.
