The Wittenburg Group is a family-owned business that develops application-specific thermoplasticcompounds. We create customised polymer compound solutions for our customers and have over115 years of experience. Operating out of our three production facilities Wittenburg, Witcom and Xunfeng, we produce Witcom and Cawiton grades to global specifications.

Witcom product range of high-performance engineering plastics compounds to serve the automotive, industrial and E&E markets. Cawiton product range of hard and soft plastics and thermoplastic elastomers to serve the medical, pharmaceutical and food industries. Our extensive knowledge and ability to combine many, often contradictory, properties into one material makes us unique.

To coordinate the purchasing process, we are looking for a:

In this independent position you are responsible for the following activities:

  • Coaching and leading the Purchasing department
  • You are an important linchpin in making agreements regarding the quality and specifications of the raw materials to be purchased
  • Responsible for the (periodic) inventory of purchasing needs and advise and/or implement new products if necessary
  • Ultimately responsible for an effective, operational and strategic procurement policy of all three locations (Zeewolde and Etten-Leur, The Netherlands, and Zhuhai, China)
  • Maintain contact with suppliers and strive for long-term and constructive cooperation with the best purchase rates
  • Initiate new purchasing strategies by product category
  • Manage the stock of the three locations and ensure optimal availability of products and services
  • First to signal logistical deviations or bottlenecks in the procurement process
  • Provide accurate information on price changes, availability and performance updates in a timely manner with the team, and ensure the changes are made to the system on time
  • Keep track of developments at all times and advise management on purchasing trends
  • Proactively come up with improvement proposals
  • Communicate openly and directly within the Purchasing department as well as other departments within the organization

Your profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar managerial position
  • Experience working with a Production and Sales department
  • Experience advising a Management team in the field of purchasing strategies
  • A completed HBO diploma in Purchasing Management, Supply Chain or Logistics
  • Experience with supply chain software and the plastics industry is a plus
  • You can work independently but also switch well with other departments
  • High analytical ability
