Job summary

Van Hessen is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the Procurement Manager and ensure efficient purchasing conditions. The role covers operational and tactical procurement, acting as a key contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You will work with colleagues across departments, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to cost-conscious procurement through data analysis and process improvements. The contract is 12 months (32–40 hours/week) in Cuijk, NL.

Qualifications

• Minimum MBO level 4 in Purchasing, Logistics, or similar.
• 1–2 years in purchasing, supply chain or logistics.
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently within procedures and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Request supplier quotations, compare and assess offers.
• Support the Procurement Manager with contracts and price agreements.
• Manage supplier relationships and act as contact for some suppliers.
• Arrange delivery and auxiliaries with selected suppliers for Cuijk and nearby sites.
• Perform spend analyses and identify savings opportunities.
• Maintain correct purchasing data in the ERP system.
• Contribute to process improvements within Procurement.
• Cooperate with the SARIA Food & Pharma Procurement organization.

Please note that this position is offered initially on a 12-month FTC for 32-40 hours per week.

As a Procurement Specialist , you support the Procurement Manager in the implementation of the procurement policy and ensure that all purchasing conditions are in place, so that the organization can place the orders as efficiently and effectively as possible. You will be responsible for a wide range of operational and tactical procurement activities and will be an important point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You will work closely with colleagues from different departments and maintain contacts with suppliers at home and abroad. In your role, you contribute to an efficient, reliable and cost-conscious procurement organization.

Your responsibilities

• Requesting, comparing and assessing supplier quotations.
• Supporting the Procurement Manager with contract and price agreements with suppliers.
• Managing supplier relationships and acting as the first point of contact for some of our suppliers.
• With a select number of suppliers, you make and manage agreements for delivery and auxilliaries of materials for the gutroom locations in the Netherlands and Germany, via a central stock point in Cuijk.
• Performing supplier and spend analyses and identifying savings opportunities.
• Processing and maintaining correct purchasing data in the ERP system.
• Contributing to improvements of processes, working methods and systems within Procurement.
• Maintaining contact with colleagues within the international SARIA Food & Pharma Procurement organization.

Who are you?

• You have completed MBO level 4 education, preferably in Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce or a similar education.
• You have at least 1 – 2 years of experience in a purchasing, supply chain or logistics position.
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
• You work accurately and in a structured way.
• You have an affinity with figures, analyses and administrative processes.
• You have good communication skills and easily build relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
• You take initiative and actively think about improvements.
• You can work independently within existing procedures, agreements and budgets.
• You have a good command of the Dutch and English language, both orally and in writing (knowledge of the German language is an advantage).
