Job summary

Clarion Chase represents a high-tech capital equipment manufacturer seeking an operations purchasing professional to ensure material availability and to manage POs while liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders in a dynamic production environment in the Netherlands.

You will work within an evolving scale-up process, requiring an MBO+/HBO in a related field, and proven experience in operational purchasing, procurement or logistics, with strong planning and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications

  • MBO+/HBO in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Experience in operational purchasing, procurement, or logistics.
  • Proactive, accurate, and able to adapt in a scale-up environment.
  • Strong planning, data handling and follow-up capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Commercial awareness and familiarity with supplier contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily material and component availability for production.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, monitor deliveries and shortages.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders per contracts and frameworks.
  • Follow up on late deliveries and material issues; escalate as needed.
  • Coordinate deliveries with Planning, Production, Warehouse and Logistics.
  • Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance; report issues.
  • Check pricing, contracts and commercial conditions; support negotiations.
  • Update purchasing data in ERP and report on open orders and shortages.

Job description

We exclusively represent a high-tech capital equipment manufacturer looking to expand its purchasing department by onboarding an operational purchaser/purchasing administrator.

The business is a leading manufacturer of imaging technologies and advanced lithography tools used in semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing environments.

A summary of the responsibilities is below:

  • Ensure the daily availability of materials and components required for our high-tech production environment.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, monitor deliveries, resolve shortages and maintain close contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work within established suppliers, contracts and process frameworks and report to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Actively follow up on late deliveries, shortages and material availability, escalating issues when required
  • Coordinate deliveries and changes with Planning, Production, Warehouse and Logistics
  • Monitor and report on supplier delivery and quality performance
  • Register and coordinate delivery and quality issues, working with suppliers, Quality and other internal stakeholders
  • Check compliance with prices, contracts and commercial conditions and support straightforward negotiations
  • Process changes in quantities, delivery dates, specifications and purchasing documentation
  • Identify recurring supply or quality issues and contribute to operational improvements
  • Ensure purchasing data is accurate and up to date in the ERP system
  • Report on open orders, shortages and supplier issues

A summary of the required skillset and experience is below:

  • The ability and openness to adapt to new processes and ways of working
  • Faster learner, and willingness to learn
  • Coping with a relatively immature process infrastructure (scale-up organisation)
  • MBO+/HBO education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience in operational purchasing, procurement, supply chain or logistics
  • Strong in planning, data, organisation and follow-up
  • Proactive, accurate and result-oriented, with the ability to handle disruptions and changing priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Commercial awareness and comfortable working within established supplier and contract agreements
  • Experience with ERP systems and MS Office
  • Affinity with high-tech technology and complex technical products is an advantage
  • Good command of English, written and spoken; Dutch is an advantage
