Job summary

AddOptics in Rotterdam is seeking a hands-on Prototype Engineer to turn advanced optical designs into high-precision, wearable hardware. You will run the proprietary casting workflow, operate 3D printers and laser cutters, and help develop jigs, fixtures, and tools that speed up production.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, perform measurements, ensure quality for global customers, and continuously improve processes.

Qualifications

• The Prototyping Mindset: hands-on engineering in makerspace or lab with 3D printers and laser cutters is a plus.
• You value precision and show pride in high-standard, repeatable work.
• You take initiative to fix or improve a tool or process.

Responsibilities

• Precision Casting: Execute the casting process for prescription AR lenses in our R&D lab.
• Design Improvements: Operate 3D printers and laser cutters to create jigs, fixtures, and tools that improve workflow.
• Quality Control: Measure and analyze products to ensure top quality for global customers.
