Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Drunen (Netherlands) seeks a Design Engineer for Propulsion Controls and System Engineering. You will lead the design engineering team, oversee production with subcontractors, and provide technical guidance to customers on propulsion control systems.

BSc or MSc in Industrial Automation or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years in designing control systems in the maritime industry or industrial automation.
Experience designing hardware for propulsion control systems.

Responsibilities

Lead design engineering efforts for advanced propulsion control systems and seamless interface integration.
Oversee subcontractors during production ensuring quality and adherence to agreements.
Answer technical questions from subcontractors and provide expert guidance to customers.
Develop and maintain testing procedures, lead Factory Acceptance Tests, and troubleshoot during production, installation and commissioning.
Support sales with on-site surveys, create technical specs and cost estimates, and lead technical discussions with international customers.
Contribute to product development and improvement within program requirements and budgets.
Mentor new Design Engineers and train customers on propulsion control systems.
