Job summary

Value Maritime, based in Rotterdam, is seeking a hands-on Project & Finance Controller to bridge projects, operations and the finance team. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting and project controlling in a growing, scale-up environment.

You will work with project managers to monitor performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear financial insights. The team includes CFO and Finance staff, with room to shape the position as processes evolve.

Qualifications

• Approx. 5 years of relevant experience in finance, controlling, FP&A or project controlling.
• Education in Finance, Accounting, Finance & Control or similar.
• Strong analytical and financial skills with attention to detail.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Interest in project-based financial control and profitability.
• Structured, pragmatic and hands-on approach with proactive mindset.
• Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
• Professional English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain project budgets and financial forecasts with project managers.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, reporting and controls.
• Monitor project performance against budget, including costs, margins and cash flow.
• Support project managers in understanding financial impact of decisions.
• Set up and support annual budgeting and forecasting cycle.
• Prepare and maintain OPEX budgets and forecasts.
• Contribute to cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Analyse actuals versus budget and forecast to provide clear insights.
• Support ERP migration finalisation and optimisation.
