Are you a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional looking to optimize financial processes in a dynamic organization? Mariflex is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Vlaardingen. In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving financial performance within our dynamic organization.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis, as well as implementing effective financial controls. You will work closely with the CFO and various departments to provide valuable financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

We are looking for a proactive professional with excellent analytical skills and a hands-on approach who thrives in a fast-paced and international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing financial and accounting operations to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting;
• Managing the full P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting;
• Preparing monthly management reports, including KPIs, cost analyses, and forecasts;
• Managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cost Accounting to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency;
• Ensuring budgeting and forecasting processes are effectively executed;
• Reviewing and improving financial controls, processes, and automation across departments;
• Partnering with management to provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations;
• Managing compliance with local, state, and international financial regulations and tax filings;
• Coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure smooth financial audits;
• Supporting intercompany transactions and aligning financial reporting with group requirements;
• Handling ad hoc financial projects and process improvements to optimize efficiency.

What do we expect from you?

• 3-5 years of experience in a financial controller or similar role;
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting;
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with Power BI or similar financial tools;
• Experience in process automation and efficiency improvements;
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently;
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English (written and spoken);
• A proactive and hands-on approach to finance and business processes;
• Experience in the maritime or industrial sector is a plus.
