Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) in Breda to lead packaging and labelling line projects from concept through commissioning within a GxP pharma environment. The role sits in a matrix organisation collaborating with PMs, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, Automation and external vendors.

You will manage electrical design reviews, FAT/SAT, verification, commissioning and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical requirements while delivering CAPEX projects on time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Approximately 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a GxP-regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences setting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on FAT and SAT experience.
• Electrical validation, verification and commissioning within projects.

Location: Breda, Netherlands

Duration: 12 months initially (with project pipeline extending through at least 2028)

Working Pattern: Predominantly on-site, with up to 1 day per week remote working

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) to support a major expansion programme within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment in Breda. This role has evolved from a traditional electrical engineering support position into a fully project-focused engineering role, offering the opportunity to lead the deployment of new packaging and labelling line projects from concept through commissioning.

Working within a matrix organisation, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, Automation and external vendors to deliver critical capital projects that will shape the site's future manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, specification and implementation of new packaging and labelling line projects.
• Provide electrical engineering expertise throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Influence equipment design and setup during project development phases.
• Coordinate and support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) activities.
• Execute electrical verification and validation activities for new equipment and systems.
• Lead commissioning and implementation activities on-site.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and automation-related issues during project execution.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including Manufacturing, Validation, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered in compliance with GxP and pharmaceutical industry requirements.
• Support vendor management and technical decision-making throughout project execution.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 7+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a GxP-regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environment.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems and equipment.
• Hands-on FAT and SAT experience.
• Experience performing electrical validation, verification and commissioning activities within projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to work in a fast-changing project environment.
• Experience with packaging machinery or packaging line equipment.
• Capital project (CAPEX) delivery experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
