Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in the Amsterdam area. This role leads a range of engineering and CapEx projects to support site growth and operational excellence within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

You will manage equipment, facilities, and utilities projects from concept to handover, develop plans, oversee multidisciplinary teams, conduct feasibility studies, and support capital investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Formal degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in pharma/biotech/medical devices or related sectors.
• Experience delivering engineering and CapEx projects in regulated environments.
• GMP/cGMP knowledge including validation activities (FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Familiarity with GAMP and ASTM E2500; PMP/CAPM/PRINCE2 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction, engineering, and technical activities on-site.

• Present project updates and recommendations to cross-functional and leadership teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional to lead a range of engineering and CapEx projects, supporting site growth and operational excellence within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead equipment, facilities, and utilities projects from concept through to handover
• Develop project plans and manage multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct feasibility studies and support capital investment decisions
• Oversee construction, engineering, and technical activities on-site
• Manage project budgets, timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope
• Present project updates and recommendations to cross-functional and leadership teams

What We're Looking For

• BSc or MSc in Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of project management experience within Pharma, Biotech, Medical Devices, Chemical, Food, or Semiconductor industries
• Proven experience delivering engineering and CapEx projects
• Knowledge of cGMP environments and validation activities (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Familiarity with GAMP and ASTM E2500 principles
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
• PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2 certification is advantageous
