Job summary

Philips Automotive Recruiting is seeking an experienced engineer to drive design, development and launch of automotive products. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing and program teams to ensure DfMA and customer specifications are met.

You will lead problem solving with DOE/DFSS/8D methods, manage engineering changes, support prototypes and production builds, and coordinate VA/VE initiatives while maintaining strong relations with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Mid-level experience: 4–9 years.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design and development from concept through validation and launch.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and program teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DfMA).
• Serve as subject matter expert on customer specifications and performance requirements.
• Drive problem-solving using DOE, DFSS, and 8D methodologies.
• Manage engineering changes (CR/CN) and track to timely resolution.
• Support prototype, pre-production, and production builds.
• Lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives.
• Coordinate development of prototypes, materials, and testing activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM)
• VA/VE Execution

Role Overview

Applies engineering principles to design, develop, and launch automotive products that meet customer specifications and performance requirements. Supports both new product development and existing production through continuous improvement and value engineering.
