Overview
As a Systems Quality Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and subsystems by aligning user and business requirements with technical execution. You will play a key role in managing product quality and reliability across the entire product lifecycle - from concept and development to launch and sustaining phases. You will work within a global team of professionals, applying best practices in quality and reliability engineering, and supporting development teams with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Strategy & Execution: Define and manage quality and reliability strategies for product development projects. Ensure alignment with regulatory standards and business objectives. Lead the execution of quality-related activities across all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Design for Quality & Reliability: Apply and facilitate Design for Quality, Reliability, and Testing (DfX) methodologies. Collaborate with system architects, project leaders, and engineers to define and manage quality requirements. Support design optimization and validation through structured testing and analysis.
- Risk Management: Develop and execute risk management plans. Facilitate risk identification activities such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), fault tree analysis, and HAZOP. Ensure proactive mitigation of potential design and process risks.
- Verification & Validation: Plan and manage verification and validation activities for design parameters and processes. Utilize statistical and reliability engineering tools to ensure robust product performance.
- Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Deploy quality and reliability best practices across global R&D teams through training and coaching. Identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable plans. Apply methodologies such as DfSS, DMAIC, PDCA, RAM, and Kaizen to drive excellence.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Manage activities using sound project management principles. Act as a consultant to internal stakeholders, providing expertise and guidance on quality-related matters. Maintain clear documentation and reporting throughout the development process.
Your Profile
- PhD or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an R&D environment
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices) is strongly preferred
- Proven track record in applying quality and reliability engineering practices (e.g., DfSS, DfR)
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality control and improvement programs
- Proficient in tools such as Minitab, JMP, Reliasoft, FMEA, FTA, and HAZOP
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, with a hands-on and solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication, documentation, and consultancy skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel as needed
