Job summary

Prodrive Technologies in Eindhoven seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead architecture, design, and realization of high‑precision systems.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, define system architectures, and drive DFx, thermal stability, and nanometer positioning accuracy. The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and 15+ years of experience with CAD (Siemens NX) and precision mechatronics, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Expert in design principles and optomechanics.
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical design of high-tech products.
• Strong knowledge of design for performance and control of dynamic/motion systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex precision mechanical and mechatronic systems.
• Define system architectures and critical design decisions for high-performance products.
• Design and review precision mechanisms, flexure systems, and optomechanical assemblies.
• Drive thermal stability, stiffness, dynamic behaviour, and sub‑micron positioning accuracy.
• Perform and oversee structural and thermal analyses to validate system performance.
• Guide Design for Manufacturing activities, ensuring robust and cost‑effective solutions.
• Mentor and coach engineers, providing technical leadership across projects.
• Act as a key technical stakeholder for customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Working at the forefront of precision engineering, you will contribute to the most advanced systems that Prodrive develops, think of custom metrology equipment, nanometer accuracy positioning stages and other integrated systems. With your expertise, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, influence technical roadmaps, and drive innovative solutions from concept through industrialization. Your responsibilities are:
