Job description

Procurement Manager – Wind Digital Transformation

We ARE Renewables is currently recruiting for a procurement professional who thrives in a complex matrix environment? Do you want to play a key role in the green energy transition? Our customer is looking for a Procurement Manager to drive strategic sourcing activities for our BA Wind (Business Area Wind) unit within the high-profile CEP (Clean Energy Package) Digital Programme.

In this role, you will lead the strategic IT/OT (Information Technology / Operational Technology) procurement to establish a brand-new, state-of-the-art OCC (Operations Control Center). You will be backed by both a dedicated business team and a procurement team, working with a diverse group of stakeholders across functions and countries.

Your Main Assignment

As our Procurement Manager for the IT/OT category, you will independently execute qualified procurements for goods and services. You will translate technical and business requirements into practical sourcing strategies, managing the process from market scan to contract handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing Strategy: Perform supplier-market scans and translate business, IT architecture, security, and transition needs into practical sourcing strategies and procurement plans.
  • Tender Management: Prepare, coordinate, and issue RFI (Request for Information), RFQ (Request for Quotation), and RFP (Request for Proposal) documentation.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Develop commercial models and evaluation criteria to coordinate transparent supplier scoring and shortlisting.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Lead clarification meetings, manage commercial negotiations, and coordinate contracting activities including supplier onboarding.
  • Governance & Reporting: Maintain a consolidated view of risks, budgets, and timelines, providing procurement input for Steering Committee decision materials.
The ideal profile:

We are looking for a pragmatic, solution-oriented manager who prefers fixing problems over complaining. You are a diplomatic stakeholder manager who feels confident communicating with board-level executives.

Requirements & Skills:
  • Experience: 7 to 10+ years of procurement experience, ideally operating at a procurement manager level within highly complex matrix organizations.
  • Domain Knowledge: A strong background in IT procurement is required to understand the communication systems. Direct experience in Wind energy—specifically with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems is a major advantage.
  • Mindset: Hands-on, self-driven, and highly analytical. You maintain momentum in a fast-changing environment with multiple dependencies.
  • Education: A formal university degree is not a must; your proven track record and relevant leading experience count for way more.

Flexible Hybrid: This role offers a highly flexible way of working, combining home office and in‑person collaboration. Please note it is not a fully remote position.
