Job description

Procurement Director – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Enfinity Global is a purpose‑driven company focused on making a positive impact on the planet by helping companies, governments, and individuals transition to a carbon‑free and sustainable economy. As a leading IPP, we develop, finance, build, operate, and own renewable energy assets in Europe, Asia, and the Americas through our offices in the USA, Spain, Italy, UK, Netherlands, India, and Japan.

Enfinity Global is seeking a Procurement Director to join our global procurement team focused on strategic sourcing of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) solutions. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and cost‑effective acquisition of key components for our utility‑scale PV + BESS and standalone BESS renewable energy projects.

The role will be responsible for leading sourcing and contracting for battery technologies, components, and integrated solutions supporting our renewable energy pipeline. This position requires a blend of commercial acumen, contractual expertise, technical understanding, and strategic relationship management to deliver competitive, reliable, and sustainable supply outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for BESS equipment, components, and long‑term service agreements, aligning with corporate sustainability goals and the renewable project pipeline.
  • Manage procurement from market intelligence and RFPs through to contract negotiation, award, and execution.
  • Lead supplier qualification and benchmarking for performance, cost, quality, risk, and innovation potential.
  • Work closely with business units to forecast sourcing needs for BESS systems and execute sourcing plans that support project delivery timelines and schedules.
  • Develop and apply a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) framework to evaluate supply opportunities, optimize levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and maximize project returns.
  • Lead global supplier relationships, fostering long‑term strategic partnerships with battery OEMs, integrators, and technology innovators.
  • Act as the key interface between internal technical, engineering, project, operations, and finance teams to align sourcing decisions with business objectives.
  • Promote innovation and collaboration with suppliers to enhance competitiveness, quality, operations, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Communicate sourcing strategies, key risks, and opportunities across stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Support global procurement initiatives and corporate sourcing objectives, ensuring consistency with enterprise‑wide supply chain strategies.
  • Lead negotiation of complex commercial terms and Master Supply Agreements (MSAs), Long‑Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), and project‑specific contracts.
  • Collaborate closely with legal, technical, and project management teams to structure risk‑balanced, bankable agreements.
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure contract compliance, performance improvement, and continuous value creation.
  • Maintain strong understanding of battery technologies (Li‑ion, LFP, flow, hybrid systems) and integration with renewable generation.
  • Analyze market trends, technology shifts, and supply chain dynamics to inform sourcing strategies and cost curves.
  • Support project feasibility and design optimization through cost modeling and technical inputs on sourcing alternatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, or related field (Master's degree and Engineering preferred).
  • 8–12 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement of renewable energy infrastructure equipment with at least 4 years of BESS experience.
  • Proven experience in international strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, innovation partnerships, and contract execution.
  • Proven track record in negotiating complex commercial contracts and managing MSAs.
  • Knowledge of US safe harbor, tariffs, FEOC/material assistance, UFLPA, and tax equity financing requirements.
  • Ability to manage across multiple global time zones and availability to travel as needed to supplier sites and project locations.
  • Strong knowledge of technical, operational, market, and financial drivers for utility‑scale and standalone storage projects.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently across time zones.
  • High analytical capability, commercial judgement, and comfort managing ambiguity in evolving markets.
  • Excellent relationship management, influencing, and communication skills across executives and stakeholders.
