Job summary

Aluvia Photonics is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize fabrication processes for aluminium oxide photonic integrated circuits (PICs) in a cleanroom environment at The Netherlands’ High Tech Factory site. You will operate and maintain advanced processing tools, perform in-line metrology, and help drive process integration for scalable production.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• Hands-on experience with lithography, etching, and deposition.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for process optimization.
• Experience with metrology tools such as SEM, AFM, profilometry, and ellipsometry.
• Structured, detail-oriented approach to process development and execution.
• Ability to analyze data and track performance trends.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain semiconductor processing tools in a cleanroom.
• Develop and optimize fabrication processes for Al₂O₃-based PICs.
• Conduct in-line characterization and data collection.
• Track process parameters and ensure reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve reliability.
• Define process integration flows and documentation.
• Collaborate with design, integration, and testing teams.
• Prepare detailed reports for R&D and production.
