Job summary

TNO in Eindhoven is seeking a Senior Process Engineer Plasma to develop and optimize plasma processes for InP wafer-scale photonic chips. You will lead deployment, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure high yield and stable manufacturing.

The role requires deep expertise in dry etching of III/V materials, SPC/DoE, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, QA, and equipment teams. You will mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

• PhD/MSc/BSc in a related field with relevant semiconductor experience.
• 8+ years in semiconductor process engineering, preferably in industrial fabs.
• Deep knowledge of plasma etching and dielectrics deposition for III/V materials.
• Proven experience in process development, troubleshooting, and yield improvement.
• Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, DoE and process characterization methods.
• Leadership experience as cluster lead or acting cluster lead.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and improve plasma processes for 6-inch InP wafers.
• Analyze process data and perform root cause analyses using SPC/DoE.
• Support operators with process-related issues to ensure manufacturing continuity.
• Troubleshoot disruptions and maintain process stability and quality.
• Lead improvement projects and introduction of new plasma tools.
• Collaborate with R&D, Equipment, QA and report progress to management.
• Create and maintain process documentation and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and represent process engineering when needed.
