Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead and contribute to industrial software development. You will stay hands-on in coding, debugging, and validation, translating customer needs into high-quality software solutions while guiding architecture and best practices.

You will own software components, drive robust designs, and mentor engineers across multidisciplinary teams to ensure maintainable, scalable results in a global context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development for industrial or hardware-related applications.
• Strong proficiency in C#, C/C++, Python or comparable languages.
• Experience with software-hardware interaction and machine control software.
• Familiarity with structured software development processes, testing, and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Develop software from specification through design, implementation, testing, integration, and documentation.
• Remain actively hands-on in coding, debugging, integration, and validation of software on machines.
• Analyze customer and system requirements and translate them into high-quality software solutions.
• Act as technical owner for assigned software components and subsystems.
• Ensure software designs are robust, scalable, and reusable across products.
