Job summary

Data Science Lab. in Amsterdam is seeking a Principal Consultant. In this strategic and technically challenging role, you will be the technical foundation of our GenAI chapter.

Are you a senior Data Scientist with a proven track record who wants to continue to grow and play a leading role in innovation and technical excellence? At Data Science Lab, you will have the opportunity to fully leverage and build on your expertise. You will be responsible for the technical vision, innovation and content products of our GenAI team. Together, we set the tone in the market for purpose-driven data solutions.

Your role as Principal Consultant

In this strategic and technically challenging role, you will be the technical foundation of our GenAI chapter. Together with the Managing Consultant (MC), you will develop a tactical annual plan that directly contributes to our business objectives. You will ensure clear direction and focus within the team, and be the point of contact both internally and externally for technological innovation.

You combine your deep technical expertise with vision and leadership. You take the technical lead on client projects from inception to delivery, ensuring the highest quality standards from the initial sales pitch through implementation and evaluation. In addition, you inspire both colleagues and clients with your expertise and advice on a strategic level.

Your result areas:

• Technical Excellence: You are the specialist and innovator in your field, driving technological innovation inside and outside the company. You are recognized as an authority in the market and others come to you for cutting-edge insights and solutions.
• Tactical Annual Plan: Together with the MC, you will create a tactical annual plan for the chapter, providing direction and focus.
• Technical Leadership: You will lead technical implementations at clients and monitor the highest quality standards from design to implementation.
• Knowledge Sharing and Inspiration: You actively share your knowledge through presentations, publications and coaching. You are a mentor to the team and encourage both personal and collective growth.
• Thought Leadership: You position Data Science Lab as a leader in the field of GenAI through your contributions to market developments, (blog) publications and as a speaker at events.

The salary is between €5,500 and €8,500 gross per month, depending on prior experience, excluding emoluments and pension allowances.

About you

• Seniority: An experienced data scientist with at least 6 to 7 years of experience.
• Technical expertise: Knowledge and practical experience of machine learning and AI engineering and LLMs. Skilled in MLOps principles. Familiar with vector databases, RAG, prompt engineering and AI integration into business processes. Knowledge of AI ethics, security and privacy is a plus.
• Vision and Innovation: You have a vision for data-driven work and the ability to develop new strategies and techniques.
