Job summary

Anchormen is seeking a Data Science Consultant in the Netherlands to advise clients and design AI applications for business challenges. You will lead projects with a team of engineers and data scientists, while also practicing hands-on data science and coaching others.

You will stay at the forefront of AI trends, shaping data science direction, and translating complex concepts for diverse stakeholders. This role requires strong communication and a customer-centric mindset.

Qualifications

Being a native Dutch speaker or being able to fluently speak the language is a big plus, but being proficient in English is mandatory.
Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field.
Proven experience leading projects and leading a team of technical people in a commercial business setting.
Experience advising clients on AI possibilities with strong stakeholder management.
Experienced in Python.
Experience with Azure, AzureML and/or AWS, SageMaker and/or Databricks.
Experience with time series forecasting, machine learning, statistics and discrete optimization techniques.
Able to translate client needs into data science requirements.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills and customer-centric attitude.

Solutions, either working as a consultant or as a project lead.

How would your contribution & day-to-day look like?

The Data Science Consultant position is a dynamic role that requires you to act as an advisor to clients and design and develop the right AI application that can solve their business challenge.

As an advisor you understand and investigate the challenges that clients face. After the consultancy and designing phase, you take responsibility for the implementation of the solution together with a team of engineers, data scientists and a project manager. From a customer perspective you are the point of contact on progress, quality and content. In addition to leading the project, you are still actively involved as a data scientist on a daily basis within the team. Next to that, you help fellow data scientists grow by coaching them and sharing your expertise.

You will also be involved with continuous solution developments and setting the directions for data science and AI. As this domain is continuously evolving you keep yourself up to date with the trends and translate them to your work and organizational approaches when applicable. You are expected to have an opinion and vision about AI and its applications. Relevant topics like ethics and trust are made tangible and transparent towards clients and the internal community.

The right person for this job has excellent communication skills to lead all aspects of project execution and delivery, including presenting technical and business concepts to a variety of stakeholders. When a customer faces significant issues, you step in to use your technical depth and machine learning expertise to find a solution. You can also influence and consult, providing options with pros, cons and risks, around all key decisions, both functional and technical, during project delivery. You are responsible for making sure the customer understands what the project will deliver, but even more importantly, that the project delivers what is valuable for the customer. You can make complex things easy, and handling complex tasks comes as second nature.

What you bring to the table:

You are knowledgeable on best practices and latest development in the data science field and engineering, both cloud-based as well as when working locally
Relevant experience in marketing and/or finance and/or industry domain
