Valcon A/S in the Netherlands seeks a (Senior) Manager/Principal Data Science to lead data science teams and guide clients on their AI journey. You supervise data professionals, translate insights into valuable solutions, and ensure delivery value across engagements.

Two career paths exist: Principal for robust data solutions and architecture, or Manager focusing on client engagement and project delivery. You will mentor peers and help shape business opportunities with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, AI, Mathematics).
• 5+ years in design, development and implementation of data driven solutions.
• Strong business acumen with ability to translate business objectives into data solutions.
• Broad knowledge of data concepts and technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead successful projects at client sites and supervise delivery teams.

As a (Senior) Manager/Principal Data Science, you are the connection between the client, key stakeholders and the delivery team. You are able to supervise a team of Data professionals and ensure that the added value for the customer is delivered and guaranteed. You have a vision on Data Science concepts & new technology, and you translate this into valuable solutions and new services for our clients.

What will you do?

• Successful project execution at the client
• Management of the delivery team
• Continuous coordination with and advice to the relevant stakeholders.
• Architecture analysis and advice for the incorporation of new solutions into the customer’s process and application landscape
• Solution Design within the frameworks and preferences of the client, thereby advising on platform/technology choices and alternatives
• Proposition development, translation of concept and technology into concrete services with added value
• Business Development – identify opportunities at the client and develop these into projects through proposals and client workshops.
• Coach colleagues on client engagement and Mentor colleagues in their career progression

Experience

• A masters degree in a quantative science such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics etc.
• 5+ years of work experience in design, development and implementation of data driven solutions.
• Business acumen: understanding the business objective, process and context in order to arrive at the objective, criteria and frameworks for the solution to be realized.
• Knowledge and understanding of a range of data concepts and technology
