Job summary

Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American is seeking a part-time Waiter for Bar Americain. You will provide warm, energetic service across relaxed daytime and lively evening service, recommending beverages and ensuring memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in hospitality, are fluent in English (Dutch or other languages a plus), and are flexible for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and a supportive team environment await at this iconic venue.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a bar, lounge, or high-end hospitality setting.
• Fluent in English (Dutch or any other languages you speak is a plus).
• Friendly, professional, and presentable with excellent communication skills.
• Calm under pressure, flexible, and able to juggle busy service times with a smile.
• Proactive, attentive to detail, and eager to learn about the beverage menu and POS system.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• MBO+ level work- and thinking skills or equivalent.
• Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service.

Responsibilities

• Know Your Beverage Menu Inside Out: be familiar with cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine and answer guest questions.
• Create a Welcoming and Lively Atmosphere: greet guests warmly and maintain a clean, inviting area.
• Serve with Excellence: take orders, upsell premium options, and deliver beverages promptly.
• Communicate and Collaborate: maintain clear communication with colleagues for seamless service.
• Handle Challenges Calmly: resolve guest concerns professionally.
• Go the Extra Mile: assist guests and colleagues and manage guest tabs via POS.
