Job summary

Leiden University, via the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS), seeks a postdoctoral researcher to develop graph analytic methods for population-scale social networks from Dutch data. You will join PLANET-NL, work with LIACS and engage with cross-institutional teams to advance theory and applications.

The position emphasizes methodological advances, publication output, and interaction with graduate students, with a path toward longer-term appointment under Dutch university

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or related field with track record in network science or complex networks
• Excellent writing skills and proficiency in English demonstrated by publications
• Affinity with bridging methodological advances in network science with social science questions
• Collaborative and interdisciplinary mindset across disciplines

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in network science
• Publish high-quality papers from project work
• Collaborate within PLANET-NL inter-university group
• Engage with Leiden Network Science group
• Co-supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students on data and network science
• Assist in minor organizational activities
