Universiteit Leiden seeks a PhD Candidate in Population-Scale Network Science for a 1.0 FTE, 4-year position in Leiden. You will conduct longitudinal network analyses using Dutch population data, develop novel measures of structural equivalence, and enable cross-country comparisons.

The role includes supervision duties and teaching assistance as appropriate. The LIACS institute hosts this position within PLANET-NL and the Leiden Network Science group, with opportunities for collaboration across

Qualificações

• MSc in computer science or a related field with affinity to network science.
• Strong writing skills; provide a writing sample (e.g., MSc thesis).
• Excellent command of English; near-fluent in-person communication.
• Curious, open-minded; able to collaborate across disciplines.
• Experience with Python and/or R and/or C++.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct research in the area of network science.
• Write an article-based PhD thesis.
• Collaborate with PLANET-NL inter-university group.
• Be part of the Leiden Network Science research group.
• Co-supervise BSc and MSc students on data science topics.
• Engage in minor organizational activities.
