Job summary

University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) is offering a full-time junior postdoctoral position in neuroscience, funded through Stichting MS Research. The project focuses on deciphering multiple sclerosis lesion evolution using multi-omics platforms, including proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and long-read RNA sequencing.

Remote work is not indicated; a collaborative, English-speaking lab environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Junior Postdoc with a PhD in molecular cell biology or related field.
• Strong English written and spoken communication skills.
• Affinity for neuroscience and a strong scientific drive.
• Willingness to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Build on MS lesion evolution research by decoding region-distinct cellular signaling.
• Generate and integrate global proteomic and phosphoproteomic signatures of MS lesion rims and cores.
• Combine region-specific long-read RNA sequencing with proteomic data to link signaling changes to molecular processes.
