Job summary

University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) invites a junior postdoctoral researcher in molecular cell biology to advance MS lesion research using multi-omics approaches. You will decode regional signaling differences and integrate proteomic and transcriptomic data with long-read RNA sequencing, contributing to the understanding of demyelination and remyelination processes.

The role is a full-time, 12-month contract (starting January 2027) with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Junior Postdoc with a PhD in molecular cell biology or related field.
• Affinity for neuroscience and strong scientific drive.
• Expertise with bioinformatic analysis is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-omics data analysis of MS lesion rims and cores.
• Integrate proteomic, phosphoproteomic and long-read RNA sequencing data.
• Collaborate with neuroscience and MS clinical teams to identify targets.
