Job summary

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher for the UI-PRIG project to develop AI-supported tools and study how gambling risk information is communicated. You will join the HTI group to combine HCI, AI, and behavioural insights.

You will build research prototypes, conduct studies with diverse participants, and contribute to publications and open-source software. English communication is essential, and collaboration with Trimbos Institute is expected.

Qualifications

• A PhD (completed or near completion) in HCI, CS, Human–AI Interaction, Psychology, Data Science, or related field.
• Demonstrated high-quality academic research with peer-reviewed outputs.
• Strong Python skills and ability to build interactive systems/research prototypes.
• Experience with AI methods (LLMs/generative AI) or ability to acquire quickly.
• Experience with empirical methods (usability studies, experiments, interviews, data analysis).
• Interest in responsible tech design, digital wellbeing, risk communication, societal impact.
• Ability to manage and execute research projects independently with interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop two open-source tools within UI-PRIG.
• Design and run user studies (cognitive walkthroughs, interviews, co-design workshops).
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data; translate findings into design recommendations.
• Publish findings and contribute to open-source tools and practical guidance for researchers and regulators.
