Job summary

UMC Utrecht in the Netherlands invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher role in ALS Protein Biology & Pathway Discovery. You will investigate ALS genes at the protein level using advanced imaging and molecular characterization, contributing to biomarker discovery and potential therapeutic targets.

Working with CRISPR-engineered iPSC models, multiplexed protein imaging, and high-dimensional analyses, you will mentor junior researchers and help shape the team’s experimental strategy

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience or related field with strong hands-on experience in molecular or cellular biology.
• Proven ability to design, execute and troubleshoot complex experiments.
• Experience communicating and presenting scientific findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate protein localization and pathological signatures in postmortem ALS tissue.
• Develop and optimize multiplexed protein imaging and antibody panels.
• Characterize molecular and cellular consequences of ALS genes in neuronal models.
• Mentor PhD/MSc students and contribute to publications.
