UMC Utrecht is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate protein-level changes in ALS tissue and neuronal models. You will study disease-associated proteins, cell states, and pathways, guiding antibody panel development and imaging workflows.

You will collaborate with geneticists, bioinformaticians, and neuroscientists, mentoring PhD/MSc students and contributing to publications within a national ALS center network.

Qualificações

• Strong hands-on experience in experimental molecular or cellular biology, especially immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy or protein analysis.
• Experience in immunohistochemistry and/or immunocytochemistry, including antibody optimization or validation.
• Ability to design, conduct, troubleshoot and interpret experiments, contributing to shared scientific objectives.
• Strong communication skills and experience presenting and writing scientific research.
• Genuine commitment to team science and active mentorship of PhD and MSc students, supporting their experiments, technical skills and scientific development.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate protein localization in postmortem ALS tissue and neuronal models to identify convergent molecular pathways.
• Develop antibody panels and optimize staining protocols for high-dimensional protein imaging.
• Collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior researchers, helping plan experiments and interpret results.
• Contribute to publications and advance experimental strategies within a multidisciplinary ALS team.
