Avular in Eindhoven is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to own the software factory behind our robotics platform. You will manage CI/CD pipelines, self-hosted build runners, package registries and SBOM/cve tooling, ensuring builds stay green and releases are reproducible.
You will streamline automation, monitor pipeline health, and contribute to security and compliance efforts while maintaining our Linux-based infrastructure and developer services.
We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Avular Team!
At Avular, we are looking for a hands-on and pragmatic Platform Engineer to strengthen our software organisation. Here you will own the "software factory" behind our robots: the CI/CD pipelines, self-hosted build runners, package registries and supply-chain tooling that our ~30 software engineers rely on every day. In this role, you will keep our builds green, our releases reproducible, and our dependencies secure. So, you will become the person who makes sure our engineers can ship robotics software quickly, reliably and safely.
As part of the team, you will be contributing mainly to the reliability and efficiency of our development platform everything between a developer's commit and a shipped, traceable artefact. You understand that good documentation and sensible automation are part of the job, and your Definition of Done includes both.
Managing and monitoring our self-hosted CI runners and keeping our GitHub Actions pipelines healthy is the core of the role
Keeping nightly builds green: investigating, triaging and escalating build failures and regressions
Improving build times, pipeline reliability and the performance of our toolchain, including cross-compilation for our embedded/robotics targets (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson)
Watching build health, PR ageing, and pipeline metrics and chasing down stale PRs and broken builds before they slow the team down
Automating repetitive developer and release tasks so engineers can focus on building robots
Running our package registries and artefact hosting, and keeping releases versioned and reproducible
Owning SBOM generation and storage, CVE monitoring and dependency/vulnerability scanning across our software supply chain
Supporting our compliance efforts around the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
Maintaining the Linux servers and internal developer services behind all of the above, including availability, backups, upgrades, documentation and standards
You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent experience
Up to 7-10 years of experience in a platform, build & release, DevOps or developer-productivity type role
A strong foundation in Linux administration (Ubuntu); this is where our infrastructure lives
Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and build pipelines (GitHub Actions is a plus)
Comfortable with scripting and automation (Bash, YAML, Python or PowerShell)
Familiarity with package registries and artefact management
An eye for software supply-chain security: SBOMs, CVE monitoring, dependency scanning
A proactive, ownership mindset: you like chasing problems down rather than waiting for a ticket
Good proficiency in both spoken and written English (our team is partly international); Dutch is a plus
Bonus: experience with C++ and/or ROS software, or affinity with embedded / robotics toolchains
Bonus: experience with containers (Docker) and virtualisation (Proxmox)
Bonus: affinity with compliance or security frameworks (CRA, NIS2, ISO 27001)
Bonus: experience with the following tools: Git, Jira, Confluence
