Job summary

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in photonics. You will develop new research lines on photonic integrated circuit design and integration technologies, and realize prototype PICs with scientific and real-world impact.

Collaborate across disciplines, teach BSc and MSc courses, supervise PhD students, and acquire national and European funding. This role supports the Beethoven program to strengthen Dutch and European industry.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or closely related field.
• Strong expertise in cleanroom based fabrication of III/V integrated photonics.
• Track record in fabless circuit design and solid relations with leading foundries
• Clear research vision and is able to formulate and execute strategically
• Thrive in a highly multi-disciplinary and team-orientated environment.
• Strong record of publications, awards, patents and/or grants
• Affinity with teaching, mentoring and supervision

Responsibilities

• Develop new research lines on photonic integrated circuit design and/or integration technologies.
• Collaborate across disciplines to explore new forms of integrated systems and paradigms.
• Contribute to TU/e's educational mission by teaching and developing BSc/MSc courses and supervising PhD students and postdocs.
• Acquire research funding from national and European programs and industry collaborations.
