Job summary

McLaing Executive Search is seeking an accomplished TMS Developer to lead backend PHP development for the client’s Terminal Management System, based in the Netherlands. You’ll collaborate with IT, OT, and business leaders to build scalable, secure integrations and robust APIs.

The role focuses on ongoing modernization, 2nd/3rd line support, and 24/7 on-call coverage, with a competitive salary and a bonus incentive. 1–5 years of PHP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or demonstrable equivalent.
• 1–5 years of PHP-based software development experience.
• Proven history deploying and maintaining mission-critical business apps.
• Deep understanding of relational databases, APIs, and enterprise integration.
• Experience interfacing core software with ERP, OT, and third-party interfaces.
• Familiarity with ITIL/ISO 27001 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, write, and maintain PHP-based applications within the TMS ecosystem.
• Conduct code reviews and promote refactoring and modernization.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and maintain secure APIs linking TMS to ERP/OT/partners.
• Ensure real-time, dependable data flow across environments.
• Provide 2nd/3rd-line technical support for global TMS environment.
• Perform root-cause analyses and implement preventive measures.
• Manage system updates, patching, and maintenance.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for operational continuity.
