Job summary

Amsterdam UMC Research BV invites a motivated graduate researcher to join a project on dementia, focusing on cerebral vascular systems and preclinical models of CAA. You will conduct studies in animals and examine whether the blood-brain barrier is affected and how interventions alter progression.

Techniques include MRI, immunostaining, confocal microscopy and ex vivo assays on vessels. The contract is for 12 months with possible extension to four years under Guideline PhD terms.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience or Cardiovascular Sciences.
• Interest in preclinical neuroscience or cardiovascular research.
• Experience with MRI or imaging techniques is a plus.
• Article 9 status or eligibility to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preclinical studies using animal models for dementia research.
• Investigate blood-brain barrier integrity in a CAA model.
• Apply MRI, immunostaining, confocal microscopy and ex vivo vessel assays.
• Contribute to project progression and data interpretation.
