Amsterdam UMC Research BV invites a motivated graduate researcher to join a project on dementia, focusing on cerebral vascular systems and preclinical models of CAA. You will conduct studies in animals and examine whether the blood-brain barrier is affected and how interventions alter progression.
Techniques include MRI, immunostaining, confocal microscopy and ex vivo assays on vessels. The contract is for 12 months with possible extension to four years under Guideline PhD terms.
In this project, you will conduct preclinical studies using animal models, including a model for human CAA. You will investigate whether the blood-brain barrier is disrupted in this model and whether interventions targeting the blood-brain barrier influence the course of CAA.
