Job description

Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company founded in 1973. At a time when all life on earth is under threat of extinction, we aim to use the resources we have-our business, our investments, our voice and our imagination-to influence changes needed to protect our planet. A registered B Corporation and founding member of 1% for the Planet, Patagonia is recognised internationally for its commitment to product quality and environmental activism, contributing over $145 million in grants and in-kind donations to thousands of grassroots environmental groups around the world.

Your role:

We're in business to save our home planet. The Interim Performance Marketing Lead is responsible for providing strategic oversight across Patagonia EMEA's performance marketing ecosystem, including Paid Search, Organic Search, Paid Social, and Affiliate channels.

This role serves as the central point of coordination for performance marketing, bringing together channel insights, business priorities, and commercial objectives to drive eCommerce growth. Through data-driven analysis and cross-channel planning, the role identifies opportunities to improve performance, optimises investment across channels, and recommends actions to reach traffic, revenue, and marketing efficiency goals. As Patagonia EMEA's subject matter expert in performance marketing, the role ensures that channel decisions are made from a holistic business perspective and in alignment with Patagonia brand values.

Main tasks:
- Performance Marketing Strategy:

Maintain a holistic view of channel performance and identify opportunities to improve traffic, conversion, revenue, and marketing efficiency. Ensure performance marketing priorities and channel plans are aligned with Patagonia brand values, commercial objectives and marketing priorities.

- Budget Allocation & Investment Optimization:

Oversee performance marketing investments across channels: evaluate channel contribution and recommend budget allocation, prioritization, and investment shifts based on business performance, commercial priorities, and market conditions. Support forecasting and planning processes through scenario modelling, performance analysis, and investment recommendations.

- Performance Analysis & Trading:

Monitor and analyze performance across Paid Search, Organic Search, Paid Social, and Affiliate channels using analytics platforms, dashboards, and reporting tools. Identify key performance drivers, risks, and growth opportunities, translating insights into actionable recommendations. Collaborate closely with the Onsite Performance Analyst and eCom Trade Manager to align on trends, challenges and opportunities.

- Performance Reporting:

Consolidate channel performance into clear, actionable business updates for eCommerce, Marketing, and leadership stakeholders. Translate complex performance data into concise insights, highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.

- Functional Leadership & eCommerce and Cross-Functional Partnership:

Serve as the primary point of support for channel specialists and as primary performance marketing partner for the eCommerce business. Contribute to trading discussions, forecasting and commercial reviews. Collaborate with the Brand Digital team to ensure that all performance marketing initiatives are aligned with Patagonia brand values.

What we're looking for:
  • An inclusive mindset
  • Extensive experience in Paid Search, Organic Search, Paid Social, and Affiliate Marketing, with a thorough understanding of performance drivers, optimization opportunities, attribution approaches, and channel economics.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce performance metrics, customer acquisition, conversion optimization, and revenue growth strategies.
  • Ability to evaluate channel and campaign effectiveness, identify opportunities to improve performance, and recommend actions that drive measurable business results.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify meaningful trends, and translate insights into clear and actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics, BI platforms, attribution models, and performance reporting tools.
  • Experience developing forecasts, investment scenarios, and performance projections to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Strong communication, storytelling skills, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to prioritize opportunities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and sound judgment when evaluating investment decisions, performance trade-offs, and growth opportunities across the marketing mix.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and adapt priorities effectively in response to changing business needs and market conditions.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
  • A love of the outdoors
  • An interest in saving our home planet and making a positive impact through your work
Other important details:
  • This is a temporary full-time position based in Amsterdam to support our team for 5 months.
  • We have a hybrid work model, working from home for maximum 3 days per week
  • We strive to make unbiased decisions and to offer a great experience to every person who applies for a role at Patagonia. Our interviews include standardized questions that focus on the aspects that are important for success in the role.

At Patagonia, we commit to becoming an anti-racist company that leads by example. This means doing the work to be inclusive and equitable, across all aspects of our business.

Every person who applies to join Patagonia receives equal employment opportunities, and we value a welcoming environment where each member of our EMEA team feels included, respected and empowered, regardless of their race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, civil status, national origin, disability or age.
