Job summary

Adyen, Amsterdam-based, is seeking a People Technology Applications Engineer to lead the application and integration layer for the People organization. You will design, build, and maintain custom applications, API middleware, and automated workflows across the Workday ecosystem and enterprise tools.

You will focus on scalable architecture, low-code/no-code solutions, and seamless user experiences, collaborating with Core People Tech, Data Engineers, Security, and HR leads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development in an international environment.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Flask) and web APIs (REST, JSON, Webhooks, OAuth, GraphQL).
• Experience with integration platforms (iPaaS), event-driven architectures, or middleware tools.
• Familiarity with enterprise SaaS ecosystems (Workday APIs, Workday Extend, Studio).
• Security-first mindset with knowledge of access management and privacy-by-design principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain application and integration solutions connecting Workday HCM with internal platforms.
• Extend platform capabilities with custom app extensions and UI/UX workflows.
• Automate workflows and deploy automated AI agents while simplifying existing processes.
• Embed security, privacy, and governance into software architectures.
• Set engineering standards, API specifications, and documentation for maintainability.
• Collaborate with Core People Tech, Data Engineers, Security and HR leads to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
