The role demands 3–5 years of payroll experience, a degree in Accounting or Finance, and proficiency with VIP Payroll or Sage and MS Excel. You will generate reports for management and authorities and maintain precise payroll records.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and reliable Payroll Accountant to manage and process payroll for their diverse workforce in Welkom . This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, managing payroll taxes, and maintaining compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations. You will be responsible for the entire payroll cycle, from data input to final disbursement, working within a professional setting that values precision and employee well-being, with a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
• Manage employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes to compensation.
• Calculate and remit payroll taxes, UIF, and other statutory deductions.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and other payroll-related legislation.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and relevant authorities.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3-5 years) in payroll processing and administration.
• In-depth knowledge of South African payroll legislation and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., VIP Payroll, Sage) and MS Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
