The Payroll Accountant plays a key role in overseeing payroll accounting and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of salary and benefit payments for employees across EMEA. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be an integral member of the Finance function.
In addition, you will be responsible for assigned general ledger accounting activities and for ensuring compliance with all applicable statutory requirements relating to employee benefits, payroll, and taxation.

The day-to-day activities of this position include overseeing the following:
EMEA Payroll Coordination
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing across multiple EMEA countries, working closely with local HR teams, Finance, employees, and third-party payroll providers.
- Manage the payroll calendar and ensure all payroll inputs, approvals, and payments are completed accurately and on time.
- Collect, review, and validate payroll-related information, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, benefits, leave, and other employee adjustments.
- Coordinate the timely submission of payroll inputs and required documentation to third-party payroll providers.
- Review payroll calculations, payroll registers, and payment files for completeness and accuracy before final approval.
- Coordinate payroll funding and salary and benefit payments with the Finance and Treasury teams. Monitor payroll deadlines and proactively resolve issues that may impact timely payroll processing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party payroll service providers across the EMEA region.
- Review and follow up on payroll queries, discrepancies, and processing issues with third-party providers.
- Maintain effective working relationships with external payroll vendors and continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and service quality.
- Support the onboarding of new payroll providers and the transition of payroll services when required.
Payroll Accounting and Compliance
- Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and payroll reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts and assist with the reconciliation of payroll liabilities and employee benefit accounts.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable local statutory requirements, employment regulations, tax requirements, and benefit rules across the EMEA region.
- Assist with payroll-related audits and provide supporting documentation to internal and external auditors as needed.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable local requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize payroll processes across the EMEA region.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll administration, payroll coordination, or payroll operations, preferably in a multinational organization.
- Experience coordinating payroll across multiple countries within the EMEA region.
- Experience working with third-party payroll providers and managing external payroll relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, HR, Finance, and external service providers across multiple countries.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee and payroll information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
- Work effectively independently and in a team.
